 Lessens Filtration Cycle Times
A Membrane Filter Press as compared to conventional filter is more efficient as conventional filter presses filter only 75-80% of the batch in the first 50% of the cycle time and if the plate stack is opened in the midway of cycle then we get wet and sloppy cake whereas comparative Membrane Filter Press, the cake is squeezed to achieve final solid content and that too in lesser time. Stopping the process at the most efficient time would also not make any difference.
Enhanced Cake Dry Solids
Before the wash cycle is begins, Membrane Filter Presses initiates a low-pressure pre-squeeze and improves the cake washing. Pre-squeeze eradicates channeling and produces a homogeneous and a standardized filter cake. Better cake wash capability
We can produce the final cake with solids content from 50 to 100% greater than can be achieved with conventional filter presses just by applying a high pressure squeeze to the filter cake. Beneficial for the maximum yield, where the produce is a high value liquid or high solids-content, where concentrated moisture in the final cake is critical. Maximum of 16 bar squeezing pressure is provided by the membrane squeeze plate.
During the squeeze cycle, solid percentages increase due to additional liquid extraction. In comparison to the conventional recess chamber plate (Plate and frame) filter press, filtration cycle time gets reduced and result in benefits of membrane plates v/s chamber plates. The use of Conventional type filter presses are limited to using feed pump discharge pressure to produce dry solids, ensuing in more cycle times.
By introducing a squeeze medium in to the middle of the membrane squeeze plate, the membrane squeeze plate reduces the long packing cycle allowing the membranes to contract against the cake compress and pack it. This results in shortening the Filtration cycle and increasing the dry solids and minimizing the waste volume. Protecting the plates against potential cake less chambers, this membrane is designed to de water the most difficult sludge.
